  1. Ooo, this looks good. I always order my sweet tea half cut, for me it’s just too sweet. This would be nice to choose the sweetness level. Thanks for posting!

  2. Though this tea may taste tones like the real deal, I assure you McDonalds tea is as simple as Louisian tea bags, sugar and water. The way to make it: boil your water and tea bags, letting them steep in the hot water, once cooled down, drain your tea bags, add to a picture with sugar and stir. Fill your glass with ice and the tea, and enjoy! Mcdonalds also uses industrial sized stuff, so pine gallon of tea gets a pound of sugar.

  3. I’ve made sweet tea all of my life and I’ve never boiled the water and sugar. If you put the sugar in with the hot water and tea bag, the sugar will dissolve. No need to use the stove. The water doesn’t need to be really hot, warm will do. Just give it a good stir.

  4. how much water did you use initially? My tea is a much lighter color than your picture. I cant tell what size pitcher you used by the photo

    • Hi Am! (: Unfortunately, I am in the process of moving, so I packed this pitcher up, but I do believe that it is an 84 oz. pitcher! I put approximately 6 cups of water in! (: The lightness could also be due to not letting the tea bags soak long enough. Try that out, and let me know how it goes this time. If you have any more questions, you are more than welcome to email me at We’ll perfect your tea! (:
